John Deere Pallet Fork Aftermarket Attachments Available

There are many attachments available, one of which being the pallet fork attachments. They can quickly transform your regular tractor into a forklift truck, at little cost.

Across the globe, John Deere had a reputation for excellence within its field of construction and engineering. They have mastered how to design and build quality heavy duty machinery, for use within a wide range of applications. They also build smaller equipment for use within the home or smaller construction sites, which are less well known but still popular.

The pallet forks which are designed for the John Deere tractors are made in a variety of sizes. The basic principle in their design is the same, bar one feature. Some of the forks tilt and others are still, depending on the model of tractor which they are going onto. Many even have a special click functionality so the tractor can be driven into the attachment and they will attach themselves securely. This makes them safer and rules out the requirement for an additional person to help with it.

The forks on forklifts, also known as rails are held together by a strong base, usually made of steel. The rails themselves of course come in many sizes and widths depending on their requirements. For heavier loads, rails as wide as 40 inches can be used and these go down to as small as 8 inches in width. Do not be fooled by the smaller ones as even those can carry a tonne of bricks at a time quite easily. With this comes 8 different increments in size so can be manufactured to fit almost any sized John Deere tractor.

John Deere Pallet Fork Attachments FAQs

Among one of the many attachments available for your John Deere tractors is the pallet fork addition, here we will explain how this attachment can benefit you.

John Deere is one of the world’s most well renowned heavy duty vehicle manufacturers. Their popularity and notoriety comes from their long established lead of their market by way of producing high quality and strong products to do the job. They design and manufacture everything from small garden tractors to oversized tracked mining diggers.

The company also provide pallet forks for the majority of their ranges and they come in a multitude of different shapes and sizes to suit. Two basic types from which variants are made are either fixed or free moving. Some even come with an easy clip fixing so the digger operator can fit them himself without assistance.

The rails on standard pallet forks are held in by a base, which can often be very weighty. Of course, the narrower the rails, the less weight they carry but they are always very strong nevertheless. Even the smallest set of pallet forks can carry a tonne of bricks and this raises rapidly as the size of the vehicle also increases.

Heavy duty tractors can have rails added onto them that can easily handle loads up to 5000lbs in weight. The forks on the attachments come in many different sizes and go from 8 to 40 inches apart in a variety of increments to suit the load or the job. A lot of them can also be positioned at different angles for use within many different applications or situations.

2305 using pallet forks to move new 50″ blast cabinet

I picked up a ‘Craigslist new’ 50″ blasting cabinet which was probably around 500 Lbs total as it sat. It had about 200-250 Lbs of blast media in it alone ( I know because I had to change it all and it filled my 49″ bucket to the point of overflowing). To get the cabinet home, I just threw the JD 2305 onto the trailer with my pallet forks on it, plucked the cabinet out of the previous owners garage, and drove it up onto the trailer for the ride home. The whole venture was over within an hour, thanks to my pallet forks

Hanomag 66C – Heavy lifting with pallet forks

Hanomag 66C in Sweden. Of course it is not possible to have a wheel loader without ‘Stora BM’-fästet (Large Bolinder Munktell-coupler) in Sweden. So this tractor have been altered. The toothed bucked that was directly attached is gone and a quick coupler replaces it. (In Sweden toothed buckets rusts away behind barns noone besides the quarry people uses them.) Here the loader is equipped with 2m (~80inch) pallet forks that are a very good match for the machine. There is some chatter in some parts of the movie, thats me giving directions to my friend David in the tractor via Peltor Lite-Com III headsets. Btw the Lathe is a Köping from 1950 This tractor is very uncommon in Sweden and the two I own are the only ones I know. (Got 1 for parts was with this one). It’s a quality tractor but it has it’s drawbacks. -The lack of parallellity when raising the loader arms sucks tho and is a deal breaker for many people that are used to Volvo loaders. The hydrulics/non-parallell loader arms is lethal. Hence the price is low here in Sweden. Can anyone tell me what year this tractor is? -I have heard 1985 but I’m not sure. Btw; Hanomag 66C equals approx. a Volvo L120

Pallet Truck Tyres – Things You Need to Know

Think about your tyres on your pallet truck

The tyres on your pallet truck is usually the last thing you think about, you are more concerned with the quality of the pallet truck, maximum capacity, pallet size, price and so on and so on. The tyres on the pallet truck do play a very important role in your pallet truck and the running of it. For example if you are working on a very old floor which is very bumpy and damaged then you need to go for an industrial pallet truck with pneumatic tyres.

What you need to know about pallet truck tyres

The wheel of the pallet truck in essence is the main pat of the pallet truck; it could not move or function with out them. All the weight and pressure is put on the wheels whilst in movement and so it makes sense to choose the right tyre for its purpose and its surroundings.

If you work a lot in office for example delivering office furniture you do not want loud squeaky wheels which is often the case with pallet trucks, on building sites and factories where the noise level is quite high this is not generally a problem but in an office it is quite distracting. Most pallet trucks have nylon wheels which can be quite squeaky and loud. Choose a wheel that is a softer compound and this will be quieter however a softer wheel requires more strength and force to move them around.

If you are having problems with the pallet truck moving over small objects on the floor such as screws and nails use a softer wheel and this will go over them more easily than a harder wheel, but again remember they require more strength to move them.

Pallet truck tyres are prone to punctures and repairs and so it is important to keep an eye on the tyres to ensure they are fully bumped and up to standard.

Electric Pallet Trucks ? What You Need When Moving Heavy Loads

Having to move heavy loads from one location to another is a common thing today whether it’s for commercial use or industrial, and there are a few different options. An electric pallet truck is just one of them, can also be referred to as a power pallet truck, pallet jack or power pallet jack.

There are a few advantages to having an electric pallet truck such as:

easily move very heavy loads quickly

protect your back from strains and injuries by allowing mobility in a safe manner

How do electric pallet trucks work?

Electric pallet trucks, as with any piece of equipment, can be dangerous if you do not how to work them properly. Follow these safety tips to ensure your safety when using a powered pallet truck:

Only operate the pallet truck if you been given the proper training

Familiarize yourself with the powered pallet truck that you will be using before you operate the machine

Review the manufacturers manual and operating instructions

Check the capacity load of the pallet truck and never exceed this amount

Be sure you know how to use the power controls and brakes properly

Load the materials on to the pallet truck securely to make sure they do not shift during movement

Ensure the pathway is clear before you begin

Give people right of way while in movement

Never block your line of vision and so do not load too high

Use a spotter if you can see clearly

Be extra careful on slopes, inclines, and narrow aisles

Stackers and Pallet Trucks ? The Differences

Stackers and Pallet Trucks – Always Together

If you are searching to buy a new pallet truck or stacker truck either online or from visiting the shops you may have noticed that you always see these two items together. Why is this? What exactly is a pallet truck and what exactly is a stacker truck? A stacker by definition is a large machine used to handle bulk materials. What is a pallet truck? A pallet truck is a large machine used to handle bulk materials. Sound familiar? Well indeed they are quite similar machines used for similar processes, so why buy one over the other?

Variations of Pallet Trucks and Stacker Trucks

There are many different variations of pallet trucks and stackers. Pallet trucks are available as Regular, Low Profile, Rough Terrain, Quick Lift, Galvanised and Stainless, Scissor Lift, Weighing Scales, Extra Long, Powered, Reel Carrying, and Mini. Stackers are available as Manual Stackers, Power Stackers, and Semi-Electric Stackers. Each are quite self explanatory by their names being either manual or electric or powered, extra long, and so on. Depending on your requirements will depend on the type of machine you should purchase.

Stackers and Pallet Trucks – The Differences

It has been described that stackers are a step up from the traditional pallet truck. Why? The nature of a stacker truck is that it is not manual; it takes away the manual effort which is required in pallet trucks in order to lift the load and move it around whereas the stacker does everything for you. A stacker is kind of on par with a forklift truck in what it can do however stackers are not as big and not as bulky which makes them easier to store and more economical to run than forklifts.

For these reasons stacker trucks are somewhat more expensive than pallet trucks, for example a regular pallet truck can usually be picked up for around £150, whereas a regular stacker truck will cost you in the region of £600. But of course you do get a lot more for the price in how much the stacker can move, the ease of the machine operation, and what the stacker can be used for. Stackers are great for warehouses and light manufacturing applications. Pallet trucks are again good for warehouses but are more commonly found in factories, shop-floors to move the merchandise, and loading bays.
